Hockenheim-ring Germany 24th August 2024: Qualification continued at the Rico Anthes Quarter mile track here at Hockenheim-ring. The weather gods liked what they saw yesterday, and they blessed us with Caribbean temperatures (33 degrees C) with a slight wind speed. Current Top Qualifiers on the second day for the FIA categories are Jndia Erbacher (TF), Sandro Bellio (TM), Andres Arnover (PM) & Jimmy Ålund (PS). Top qualifiers from the FIM categories are Rickard Gustafsson (TFB), Marcus Christiansen(STB), Jake Mechaell (SSB), Jörg Lymant (PSB) & Hugo Leistner (JrDB).

Today’s schedule was to run two qualification rounds (round 3 & Round 4) for all the FIA/FIM and some of the sportsman categories and start eliminating Pro ET and Super Pro ET. However, several categories didn’t get the opportunity to do their last qualification round due to delays in the schedule and an unfortunate crash during qualification round four for Pro Modified (during the afternoon session). Of course, Saturday was also the day which included a night show, where several racers stunned the audience with some thrill passes at night, like Gerd Habermann on his Jetbike and Former Top Fuel champion Ida Zetterström, who made a pass in her old car against Linn Fløysvik.
Jndia Erbacher is still in the lead after three qualifying runs—still no three-second run for Top Fuel Dragster (TFD); slight improvement here and there but nothing major. There was no improvement for Jndia today, but her 4.177 second from yesterday was quick enough to stay in the lead—a slight improvement for Susanne Callin, which improved her time from 4.988 to 4.778 at 255 mph, therefore jumped from number three to the second spot. There was no improvement for Linn Fløysvik, which has now dropped one spot to the third place. Jndia will have a bye run. Linn will meet Duncan Micallef, and Susanne Callin will meet Danny Nilsson in the elimination round one.
After four qualification rounds, Sandro Bellio is still in the lead of Top Methanol (TM). Unfortunately, we won’t see Bellio on the track this weekend. Belio hurt the car badly during the last qualification yesterday and won’t be able to repair it. Jhonny Lagg could not improve yesterday’s time and is still second with 4.384 at 434 km/hr. Lagg will meet Jϋrgen Nagel during elimination. The third spot is for German driver Silvio Strauch, with a 5.565 at 405 km/hr. Strauch will meet Tony Bryntesson in the first elimination round.
Andres Arnover takes the lead in Pro Modified after four qualification rounds. Arnover thrilled the spectators with the first five-second run of the weekend when he clocked a 5.963 at 401 km/hr on the quarter-mile during qualifying round three. Qualifying round four didn’t go as planned due to a crash. With one last pair still in the staging lane (yesterday’s top qualifier, Stian Rusånes & Andres Arnover), it was decided to run the last pair during the night show. As neither improved their time in Q4, Arnover kept the lead and will meet Walle Strobel in the first elimination round. There was a significant improvement in Q4 for Roger Johansson, who also clocked a five-second run (5.984 at 393 km/hr). Johansson ended up second and will meet Peter Wacker tomorrow. Michel Tooren claimed the third spot with a 6.003 second at 360 km/hr and will meet Marcus Hilt during the first elimination round.

There are no changes in Pro Stock’s top three after three qualification rounds. Jimmy Ålund still in the lead but couldn’t improve yesterday’s time (6.618-second run at 336 km/hr). Micheal Malmgren is still second but couldn’t improve yesterday’s time (6.656 seconds at 335 km/hr). A slight improvement was made by Robin Norén, who managed to clock a 5.698 at 331 km/hr, but not fast enough to take second place and remain third. Ålund will meet Stefan Ernryd during the first elimination round tomorrow, while Malmgren will meet Lars Britsmar. Norén will meet Simon Enkengren.

New top qualifier in Super Pro ET! Christiaan Schneebeli takes the number one spot with a perfect run! Schneebeli ran a 7.950-second run at 274 km/hr (7.950 dail in). Alex Halter ended second with a 7.873-second run at 277 km/hr on a 7.870 dail-in. The third place is for Robert Gassner from Germany. Schneebeli won from Christian Zulauf in the first elimination round and will meet Franz Aschenbrenner in the second round. Halter won from Enrico Bailo and will meet Gerhard Dold in the second elimination round.

Super Gas [9.90 index] Philip Daud claimed the number one spot in Super Gas. Daud crossed the finish line in 9.906 at 224 km/hr. Yesterday’s top qualifier, Oscar Scappocin, couldn’t improve his time and ended up in second place after four qualification rounds. Aurelien Menard remained third but improved his time to 9.941 at 207 km/hr. Daud will meet Lorenzo Dolcini, while Scappocin will meet Michel Vogt in the first elimination round. Menard will meet Sally Ekerst.

Rickard Gustafsson is still leading the Top fuel bike after three qualification rounds. He improved his time to 6.086 at 364 km/hr (previous time: 6.262 at 371 km/hr). Eric Richard improved his time but needed to be faster (6.510 at 349 km/hr.) to take the number one spot and remain in second place. Mark Smith ended up third with a 6.746 at 306 km/hr. In the first elimination round, Gustafsson will meet Stuart Crane, while Richard will meet Rene van den Berg.
Marcus Christiansen is still in the lead of the FIM Super Twin Bike after three qualification rounds. Yesterday, Christiansen improved to 6.418 at 351 km/hr to secure the number one spot. Per Bengtsson is the second qualifier with a 6.701-second run at 288 km/hr. The third place is for Chris van Nimmen. In the first elimination round, Christiansen will have a bye run, while Bengtsson will meet Marc van den Boer. Chris will meet Anders Hörnström.
Super Street Bike (SSB) competitors also went through only three qualification rounds, with no improvements or changes in the top three. Jake Mechaell is still in the lead, Alan Morrison Jr. is in second place, and Krisztiάn Jάsz is still in third place. Mechaell will meet Clemens Walleit during the first elimination round, and Morrison will meet Michail Tziratoudis.
