Curacao International Raceway, Curacao
2nd of July 2021

Test and Tune event powered by SBR to kick off a weekend full of race activities on the track, was the first time that traction on both sides of the track was going to be used for the drivers in 2021.

After a rigorous track cleaning and traction was applied to the track, the cars were invited out to test the track out. Even after 2 years of no racing or usage, the team was able to apply a decent layer of traction with the equipment at hand. We salute Kino, Luti and all the crew that worked hard to bring the track from a dusty 1320 to a sticky prepped surface.

We of course went live at the event.
But due to time constrains we could only stay for a short while.

Enjoy the above “tease” of a live stream that we could manage to make, seeing the time constrains and other responsibilities that we had to attend / take care of.

Alistair went for a stroll trough the pits and could capture all the action and preparations that was happening there.

Many drivers were getting their machines ready to take on the track after a long while.
It has been 2 years since we had a prepped track event.
So everything needed to be checked, before they take to the track to test.

Some highlights while we were there:
Asis returns to the track with the Casper / Valvoline Supra with an all new setup

The car is now manually shifted but still made quick work of the 1/4 mile running 10 seconds all night. We are glad to see #FULLBOOST Racing back in action at the track.

DSC_0261Another team that rolled up to test also was Techi Racing Team. The car usually piloted by Virgil Henriquez was the first to show up. That is “Mr John” , but was piloted by some one else. They made a pass, but the car was skidding / patinando all the way down the track. Surely they need to adjust / get used to this vehicle that has many many races won on this track

The bikes were also in attendance in a large group. To see them again run low 9 second and 8 second passes was a sight. It has been more than a year that we had bikes go down the 1320 on a prepped track.
