After a supercar day behind closed doors early this year and a successful first edition in Belgium (Circuit Zolder), 402 automotive still managed to bring the Supercar Madness car show to Assen. Supercar Madness, the name gives it away! So let’s start with the obvious; The Car paddock! The center of attention during the event; where Supercar dealers, tuning companies, or private owners have their cars displayed. Among them, this 2013 ‘Blu Francia’ blue Pagani Huayra (meaning God of the Winds in Quechua).

Only a hundred Huayra were produced, between 2012/13-2018. This one is the very first coupe and carries chassis # 001!  It is the same car Pagani used to display at the Geneva International Motor Show back in 2013. Another background information about the Huayra is that the screw & bolts used on the Huayra, are made from grade 7 Titanium, with a price tag of around $80 apiece. The Huayra has approximately 1400 screws & bolts!  This beauty is for sale, so put it on Santa’s list and let Santa reach out to Esser Automotive to make a deal!

Another eye-catcher was the McLaren Twins, uh Trio! The Van de Pavert family (Herman, Ineke, and their daughter Mandy & Melissa) swap their Ferrari for a 2014 McLaren 650S. Why? Because they fell in love with the roar of the 3.8 liters, twin-turbo V8. One problem; a four-member family will not fit in a 650S. Herman & Ineke love spending time on the road or at an event together with their daughters. So what do you do? Well, you add a 2016 McLaren 650S to your collection!

Now the whole family started to enjoy the cars and spending time together at events. They decided to share their road stories with the world and wanted to give the cars a name. There is where the name came from; The Mclaren twins! Last year they added a 2020 McLaren 600LT to their collection. But they have no intention of renaming the McLaren twins brand.

For the car owners looking for more adrenaline rush, Supercar Madness offered; The Supercar Hot Laps. These were 30 minutes sessions in between the supercar challenge races, where car owners had the opportunity to floor the gas pedal and take a shot at the track.

Then the moment arrived for the car display! a 402 tradition where a few selected cars will be displayed in front of the main stand, so the public can enjoy all the cars together. After the picture moment

Besides the events on the track, there was plenty to do, like enjoying the podium shows. Here the spectators were entertained by Gaston Starreveld and had the opportunity to sit in a supercar.
