Hockenheimring, Germany, 30th August 2025: Qualification continued here at the Rico Anthes. The track was in slightly better condition today than it was yesterday, and several competitors improved on their time from yesterday, but not everybody had that luck. Weather conditions were favorable in the morning, but a light shower struck around 1:00 p.m., and the races were temporarily suspended. After that, the races continued until right before the night show started. Top Qualifiers for the FIA categories are Jndia Erbacher (TF), Jonny Lagg (TM), David Vegter (PM) & Jimmy Ålund (PS). Top qualifiers from the FIM categories are Stuart Crane (TFB), Per Bengtsson (STB),  Jake  (SSB), Jörg Lymant (PSB) & Maggie Smallmann (JrDB).

Jndia Erbacher maintains her number one spot in Top Fuel Dragster (TFD).  Still no three-second run yet, but the weekend isn’t over yet, so there is still hope. Erbacher drove her dragster in 4.235 seconds at 345 km/hrs, which is 0.01 seconds faster than yesterday’s time (4.246 seconds) to maintain her lead. Erbacher will have a bye run during the first round of elimination, which is also the semi-finals, as there are only three competitors. Liam Jones qualified second after four qualification rounds with a 4.426 seconds at 303 km/hrs. Jones will meet third qualifier Susanne Callin in the semi-finals.

Jonny Lagg improved yesterday’s time to claim the number one spot. Lagg crossed the finish line in 5.301 seconds at 444 km/hrs and maintained his lead after the last qualification round. Lagg will have a bye run in the first elimination round (E1) due to odd entries (only five competitors). Yesterday’s Leader, Tony Bryntesson, is in second position after four rounds of qualification. He couldn’t improve his 5.385-second run from yesterday, but this was fast enough to maintain his number one spot. Bryntesson will meet Sandro Bellio in E1. Bellio had a good run in Q4, running a 5.690 second at 364 km/hrs, which would have given him the third spot, but nipped the timing box with his exhaust, so that run didn’t count. Jürgen Nagel qualified third with a 5.814 seconds at 392 km/hrs and will meet Silvio Strauch in E1.

Far better conditions today for the Pro Modified competitors, with the top 5 into the five-second Zone. David Vegter claimed the top qualifying position in the third round with a stunning 5.855 seconds at 390 km/hrs (reaction time of 0.2 of a second). He backed this up with another 5.8 seconds in the fourth qualification round. He will have a bye run in the first elimination round (E1) due to an odd number of competitors. Yesterday’s Leader, Mats Eriksson, is now second with a 5.870-second run and will meet Kim Kristiansen in E1 tomorrow morning. Michel Tooren improved his time to 5.915 seconds at 389 km/hrs to maintain his third position (from 6.011 seconds). Tooren will meet Walter Strobel, who qualified in tenth place in E1.

Stuart Crane is still on top in Top Fuel Bike (TFB) after four rounds of qualification. He will enter elimination as the top qualifier with a time of 6.389 seconds at 351 km/h. Additionally, in top fuel bikes, the better track conditions were noticeable; however, the elapsed times this year were still higher compared to those in 2024. Glen Borg qualified in second place with 6.591 seconds at 340 km/hrs, and Rene van den Berg qualified in third place with a 6.600-second run. Crane will meet Dutch rider Maarten Zijlstra in the first elimination round (E1), while Borg will race Kan Rautanen. Dutch rider Van den Berg will race Mikko Rajaniemi from Finland.

New leader in Super Twin Bike (STB) as Per Bengtsson improved yesterday’s time (6.931 seconds) to 6.195 seconds at 361 km/hrs. Marcus Christiansen is now second after four rounds of qualification with a 6.238-second run at 339 km/hrs. Vesa Lipponen ended up in the number three spot with a 6.507 seconds at 335 km/hrs. Bengtsson will meet Carsten Hormann in the first elimination round (a quarterfinal already due to the low number of competitors), while Christiansen will race Christian Jäger. Lipponen will race number six qualifier, Roman Sixta, in the first round.

British top three for Super Street Bike (SSB) as Jake Mechaell, Alan Morrison Jr, and Ross Morrison, all from England, claimed the number one to three during qualification. Mechaell stormed to the finish line in 6.777 seconds at 349 km/hrs to claim the number one spot and will meet Jack Shook during the first elimination round (E1). Remarkable is that Mechaell qualified first last year (6.810 seconds), followed by Alan Morrison Jr. (6.856 seconds).

Alan Morrison Jr,

Jörg Lymant takes the number one spot in Pro Stock Bike (PSB) after four rounds of qualifications. Lymant crossed the finish line in 7.244 seconds at 297 km/hrs. Karl-Heinz Weikum from Germany improved his time from yesterday from 7.35 sec to 7.326 seconds at 292 km/hrs, but came in short and is now second. Pavlos Sidiropoulos maintained his number three spot and will meet Alex Hope in E1. Weikum will race Charalampos Bousinis from Greece in E1, and Lymant will have a bye run during E1.
