Jndia Erbacher claimed victory today at the Rico Anthes Quartermile in Hockenheim for the second time in a row. After yesterday’s qualification, only two out of three dragsters remained in competition as Susanne Callin suffered a major engine/rear-end failure beyond repair. Both Jndia Erbacher and Liam Jones got a bye run and met each other in the final race. They both left the tree nearly at the same time (0.103 reaction for Jones vs 0.151 for Erbacher) and paddled down side by side. Liam crossed the finish line in 4.349 seconds at 317 km/h, while India crossed in 4.202 seconds at 389 km/h to take the win.

Silvio Strauch is the absolute winner in Top Methanol (TM). After struggling throughout the season, the German TM competitor had the right combination to win in their home country. Top Qualifier Jonny Lagg had a bye run in the first elimination round. It clocked a 5.471 seconds at 427 km/hrs on the quarter mile and met Strauch in the half finals. Lagg was sharper on the tree (0.069 vs 0.103 for Strauch), but came to short (5.845 sec) against Strauch, his 5.473 at 415 km/hrs. The final race was between Strauch and Sandro Bellio from Belgium. Strauch was sharper on the tree (0.161 sec vs 0.218 sec for Bellio) and took the win with a 5.492-second run at 415 km/hrs vs a 5.672-second run for Bellio.

Mark Harteveld takes the win in Pro Modified (PM) in the most unusual way to win a race. It was a rematch from three weeks ago in Tierp, where Mark met Jere Rantaniemi in the final round but came up short, losing that one; however, not today. Mark started the elimination with a 5.893 seconds at 389 km/h against Norbert Kuno, who left too early and gave the race away. He also had a 5.997 seconds in the semi-finals against Bruno Bader. AT the final race against Rantaniemi, Harteveld left the tree too early. Still, Rantaniemi floors it, only to encounter some trouble halfway through the track and hit a timing box, which means the run didn’t count. As a result, Marck took the win.

Another win for Jimmy Ålund in Pro Stock (PS) here at the Rico Anthes Quartermile. Like last year, history repeats itself with Ålund and Robin Norén in the final round, and again Ålund takes the win. Ålund was the man to beat this weekend as he qualified first and won every race with a 6.6-second run. Ålund and Norén both left the tree nearly at the same time (0.063 seconds vs 0.061 seconds for Norén) in the final round. They went side by side, but Norén ran a 6.715-second run at 330 km/hrs, while Ålund crossed the finish line in 6.624 at 336 km/hrs to take the win.

In the Top Fuel Bike (TFB), it is Stuart Crane from Great Britain who takes the win at the Rico Anthes Quartermile. Crane had all the right combination this weekend to stay ahead of the competition. As the top qualifier, he had a bye run due to the odd number of competitors, but that didn’t stop him from opening the throttle across the finish line in 6.392 seconds at 351 km/hrs. The final race pitted Crane against Finn rider Mikko Rajaniemi. Crane was sharper on the tree and crossed the finish line in 6.265 seconds at 3262, while Rajaniemi ran a 6.439 seconds at 310 km/hrs.

Marcus Christiansen won Super Twin Bike (STB). Christiansen qualified second with a 6.238-second run and had all the right combination to stay ahead of the rest. Not only did Christiansen run into the low six-second zone, but he was also quicker on the tree with a 0.088-second reaction time in the semi-finals against Cristian Jäger, who left the tree in 0.187 seconds. The final round went between Christiansen and top qualifier Per Bengtsson. Christiansen had a 0.101 reaction time on the tree (vs 0.161 for Bengtsson) and crossed the finish line in 6.205 seconds (vs 6.282 seconds for Bengtsson) to take the win. Remarkable is that it’s the third year in a row that Marcus has won the Nitrolympx weekend in Super Twin Bike
