After being postponed due to weather, the finals were held on this date and the weather was nice for racing.
As usual we went live at the event.
Check out all the action that happened during qualifying.
At the end of the above video you can see that the starlet of tonchi blew up and left oil all over the start of the track.
It took forever to clean the track form the resulting oil down. Coming from a few weeks abroad, it was very clear to us that the cleaner / scrubber is a necessary tool for the track crew to speed up the cleaning of oil downs.
Now an oil down will take an hour of hard work by the safety safari team, mean while you could go back to racing in 15 minutes using a scrubber and some blow driers or a torch.
We went live again when the action resumed.
When I ran out of juice and told every one that we would be back after the next round of eliminations.
BUT when we closed the stream to go charge the batteries, a bike made a pass and let oil down on the track beginning of the speed trap at the finish line and ran all the way to the 2nd entry of the return road.
Needles to say that it took a while to get back to racing.
Returning to racing an situation rose when Ronald Mendez original car broke down and he showed up in Mr Holley.
After many back and fort with the race master and tower officials Millard”Mayous” Petrona stepped in to race. He got eliminated, then Riordan Zimmerman in “Follow me 2” dragster got the golden chance ta avenge Mayous.
And he did, by beating Ronald in the next round of elimination.
