\"DSCF3604\"Formula D Round 3 - Invasion<\/strong>\r\n\r\nUpon arriving at the location you can already start to see the tuned cars,\r\nthe drift cars on the trailers and the groups of people tailgating waiting\r\nfor the gates to open. Upon entry you get hit with the teams and the \r\nrides around the lot. It is an awesome sight to see.Walking around the\r\ndifferent tents of the part makers and different customizing garages,\r\none feels like in automotive heaven.<\/pre>\n
It is just an awesome feeling that you must be a part of at least one time.\r\nMore Pictures here.!<\/a>\r\n\r\nSlammed Society car show\r\n<\/strong>\r\nWe were treated to exciting on-track action intermingled with the Slammed Society car show and \r\ndisplay of cars from the Targa Trophy. When we saw these slammed tricked out rides roll in, \r\nwe ran over to get a better shot. These are not trailer queens, but daily driven rides that rolled\r\nonto the grounds on their own power. There was import and muscle, old and new school and also some\r\nthat would make you say \"WTH\". These people put their heart and soul into these rides and it show.\r\nThe fans were treated to exciting on-track action intermingled with the Slammed Society car show and \r\ndisplay of cars from the Targa Trophy.\r\nMore Pictures Here.!<\/a>\r\n\r\nMeet the drifters<\/strong>\r\n\r\n\"DSCF3678\"Fans of FD always has a chance to get signed merchandise and posters \r\nfrom their favorite drivers at the event. Be up close and personal with \r\nyour favorite drifters. Take pictures from them and even share a small\r\nconversation. It is a nice way to see how these people are just hard\r\nworking men doing what they love.\r\n\r\nMore Pictures here.!<\/a>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nThe Competition<\/strong>\r\n\r\nFD competition is very easy to follow.\r\n\r\n\"IMG_0540\"<\/em>- 32 drifter fight for a spot in the qualifier.\r\n- Top 32 elimination\r\n- Top 16 elimination\r\n- Great 8 elimination\r\n- Top 4 elimination\r\n- 3rd place battle\r\n- Finals\r\n\r\nDrivers must maintain to the rules and regulations FD puts in place at each event. Judging always\r\nis a hot topic and might not by liked by the crowd at times, but the sport progresses as it goes\r\nand tries to be the best for every one that is in it. The drifters hang it out and go hard every time,\r\nsometimes to hard, but hey it is drifting. People will get hit, people will hit obstacles, \r\nbut it is all part of the game.\r\n\r\nThe technical track featured a fast entry that proved to be a challenge for some of the drivers with \r\nmany favorites failing to enter the later rounds of competition. The consolation round pitted \r\nRobbie Nishida in the Bridges Racing\/Achilles Lexus SC300 against Vaughn Gittin in the\r\nMonster Energy\/Nitto Tire Ford Mustang. After failing to reach the line after a Competition Timeout \r\nfollowing mechanical problems from the previous round, Gittin conceded to give Nishida the win and \r\nthird place. The final battle pitted Michael Essa in the GSR Autosport\/Yokohama Tire BMW M3 against\r\nreturning champion Daigo Saito in the Bridges Racing \/ Achilles Tire Lexus SC430, who also won this\r\nevent last season. The battle was fierce, but Essa took the victory after Saito had a slight error in\r\nhis chase run. This is Essa\u0092s first Formula DRIFT pro championship podium and victory, which moves him\r\ninto third place overall in the standings. Saito in the process moves into first place overall with\r\nGittin closely behind him in second place.<\/pre>\n
