JAARBEURS UTRECHT, THE NETHERLANDS 14-17 February: \u00a0like Drag racing, a lot of events rely on weather condition. This brings people in the right mood and motivates them to leave their homes. this time it was no exception as mother nature blessed the Netherlands with some spring condition; temperature into the two digits, no rain, shining sun, and a deep blue sky.

This combination motivated 80.000 people to leave their home (from 14th<\/sup> to 17th<\/sup> February) and visit the 35th<\/sup> edition of the MotorBeurs Utrecht and around 14.000 came to Utrecht on their bikes!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MotorBeurs a well-known event which increases heart beats of bike owners and lovers and is seen in The Netherlands as the event that kicked off the bike season. Motorbeurs which has started small back in 1984 has grown from 8000 square meters into 60.000 square meters plus event.<\/p>\n

At Motorbeurs not only you can find all kind of clothing, parts, tools, and gadget you need, but several dealers presented their brand new models.<\/p>\n

For the ones with a small budget, there were several areas with occasions on sale and for the ones who wanted to get a hang of it, this year the organization had a test area to test latest models.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Most visitors and exhibitors were very positive about this year Motorbeurs. One of them is Shernon Martis from Speshi Racing (Speshi Clothing). Shernon is a known name in the Dutch drag racing world and the brand \u2018Speshi\u2019 is becoming a life style among riders.\u00a0 During the 2016 Motorbeurs, the team was the center of attention with two bikes at their sponsor’s booth; Motorketting. As these were street bikes with a long extension, the public could get familiar with these long type chains supplied by Motorketting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year two other bike riders have teamed up with \u2018Speshi Racing Team\u2019 and returned to Motorbeurs with their own booth.\u00a0 One of the new joiners is the 2016 BMW S1000 RR in a shark look wrapped owned by young lady Ashana Ramabaja. This bike got a lot of attention from the visitors for its cool and rarely seen design. Another rider, exhibiting under the \u2018Speshi\u201d fleet is the superlong Suzuki Hayabusa owned by Rubinoff Webster. This bike, also running on chain supplied by motorketting has a total length of\u00a0 2.25 m, is street legal (certified by RDW) and is already claiming the title of the longest bike in the Netherlands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Centre of attention at the teams booth; the newly build black Suzuki GSX-R 1000 & the white Suzuki Hayabusa GSX-R 1300. The GSX-R, which is a nitrous build drag bike, which will be debuted in the competition bike class this drag season.\u00a0 The Hayabusa has been build for Super Street Bike, which is a class for stock appearing gasoline burning motorcycles with unlimited engine modifications and also has long swing arms. These bikes run into the seven seconds on a quarter mile track.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As these are heavily armed newly build bikes, the days could go without asking the question; so what can we expect from these this 2019 season, which Shernon replied \u201cWell these bikes were built at a high level, I am very satisfy with the result so far, were not done yet. But we will be ready once the season has started. I can not say anything about the performance yet, as I will need to familiarize myself with how they both behave on the track. As you know Super Street Bike isn\u2019t a easy class and things can get ugly real quick!<\/p>\n

This year for sure will be an interested year, a lot of movements, new bikes who will make their debute and \u2018Speshi Racing\u2019 is one of them. Make sure you have the dates of this drag season marked in your calender and come see how these two mean machine performed on the track!<\/p>\n
