Drachten, The Netherlands, June 2026: In 2024, Cheyenne Visser and Team Gremlin (previously Team Dolphin) upped their game from Jr. Dragster to Super Comp. A new race car, a new team name (they kept the gremlin legacy alive by retaining the name and livery), and new challenges were all part of the experience. And with this whole new package, they’ve also recently added a new member to their sponsors club. We took a moment to have a small chat with the Visser family and reflect on the last two seasons to relive their adventures, understand their challenges, and get a glimpse of their plan for their third season in Super Comp. So how big was this change? The change was huge, not only for me as a driver but for the whole team, Cheyenne replied. We were experienced and within our comfort zone with Jr. Dragster, but soon realized that Super Comp was a whole different level. But it was still a positive transition that brought us closer as a team. We have learned so much in the last two seasons!<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

And yes, it is. In Juniors, qualification is based on reaction time; in Super Comp, it’s a fixed dial-in of 8.90 seconds. Where Juniors will finish at 1\/8-mile; supercomp is just half the track. And this is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the differences that make Super Comp unique. So let\u2019s dive into the last two years with Team Gremlin and see how their journey has been so far.<\/p>\n

What was the biggest challenge for you as a driver? First, the speed was definitely noticeable, and I needed to maintain my focus longer as the track was twice as long, Cheyenne continued. Also, the shutoff area was longer, so I needed to get comfortable with the exit and the return road. A feature that I needed to get used to is that I can now reverse the car myself. It may be small, but it gives you more control and allows you to be more independent in the pits or on the track, compared to a Jr Dragster.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

I also needed to get used to the Pro three, as in Jr Dragster I was used to the Sportsman tree (bracket), therefore now I need to react much quicker, no time to see what the other is doing.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

What is currently your biggest challenge in Super Comp? Which she replied, Pursuing that perfect reaction time, that perfect run, where all pieces fall together without going under that 8.90 index!<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

When you set the step to Supercomp, the ultimate goal was to continue climbing the ladder. Any change? No changes in my ultimate goal! But our focus is currently not on climbing the ladder but on gaining more experience. As long as we, as a team, are happy and we can afford it, we will continue racing in super comp.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

What is the goal for the 2026 season, and how many competitions are you guys in? Our goal for this year is to get as many runs as possible. We are aiming for the French and German Championships (DMV, HARA, Hessen, ULM, BMC) and the DRU Challenge, for a total of 6.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Team Gremlin\u2019s just had their first race in the French championship (29th European Dragster at Clastres Raceway), and Cheyenne started strong, qualifying third with 8.940 seconds at 250 km\/hrs and won the first elimination round with 8.939 seconds at 252 km\/hrs. Team Gremlin is currently third on the French championship and is ready for their second race in a few weeks\u2019 time at Clastres Raceway for the second round of the French Championship, which includes the DRU challenge and DMV championship. It\u2019s race time!<\/p>\n
