With the Nitrolympx weekend in the rearview mirror, the DMSB (Deutscher Motor Sport Bund) Drag Racing Pokal or Cup (DSMB DRP) closed the 2026 season. As in previous years, the season kicked off in Clastres, France, in May (29th European Dragster weekend) and June (30th European Dragster weekend), then moved to the third and final round at the Rico Anthes Quartermile, Hockenheimring, Germany. A weird year for several competitors all over Europe, as most races were affected by weather, either heat waves or rain showers that prevented a full elimination ladder from being completed, and a lot of wins were decided by points accumulated during a race weekend. The 2026 champions in their categories are Lucas Potthoff (SPET), Dirk Sommer (PET), Janine Petzold (SC), Philipp Daud (S.G.), and Rainer Hescher (ETB).<\/p>\n

So how did the 2026 season go, and who won which race to reach the top? Let us break it down, starting with the fastest category in the Championship: Super Pro ET (SPET).<\/p>\n

Lucas Potthoff extended his crown for another year by winning the 2026 Deutscher Drag Racing Pokal (DMSB) in Super Pro E.T. The young German driver kicked off the championship by taking the top qualifier spot in May, running 0.01 from his dail-in. He was still in competition when the race was rained out. He qualified 6th in June (30th European Dragster and first round of the Drag Racing Pokal). Because no eliminations were run due to weather conditions, those were the only points achieved. At Rico Anthes, Potthoff qualified second (7.639 at 282 km\/hr on a 7.63 dail-in) but lost to Christian Schneebeli, who won by holeshot in the quarterfinals. Potthoff finished with 192 points, enough to win the DRP. Pascal Czieschowitz is the 2026 Deutscher Drag Racing Pokal (DMSB) runner-up in Super Pro E.T., with only 70 points, as he competed only at Rico Anthes Quartermile (NitrOlympX weekend). Czieschowitz qualified in seventh position with a 7.690 at 285 km\/hr on a 7.65 dail-in (0.040 seconds from his dail-in), but lost to Urs Embacher in the first elimination round. Swiss driver Alain D\u00fcrr took third place and ended the DRP season with 62 points (D\u00fcrr also didn\u2019t participate at Clastres Raceway in June and July).<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

In Pro E.T., Dirk Sommer won the 2026 Deutscher Drag Racing Pokal (DMSB)! Sommer qualified ninth in May and was still in competition when the race was rained out (quarter-finals). In June, he qualified 18th. At the Rico Anthes Quartermile, Sommer qualified 15th and reached the quarter-finals, where he lost to Bj\u00f6rn Szczendzina after breaking out and giving away the race. With this, he earned 161 points to win the championship. Dirk Kunold finished the season with 153 points as championship runner-up. Kunold qualified in 21st place in June with an 11.14 seconds at 187 km\/hrs on a 10.95 dial-in. At the Rico Anthes Quartermile, he also qualified 21st and reached the quarterfinals, where he lost to Stefan Alberth. Bj\u00f6rn Szczendzina, in his Chevrolet Camaro \u201cLucille,\u201d finished third in the championship with 147 points. Szczendzina started his championship in June, qualifying fourth with a 10.0548 at 226 km\/hrs on a 10.05 dail-in. During the Nitrolympx weekend, Szczendzina qualified third and was waiting in the staging lane to run against J Foersch for the final race before it got rained out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

In Super Comp (SC), it is Janine Petzold, the 2026 Deutscher Drag Racing Pokal (DMSB) champion. In May, Janine qualified first with an 8.911 and was still competing when it rained out. In June, she clocked an 8.911 again but finished second on the qualification list. In August, Janine qualified second with another 8.91 (8.913 second at 262 km\/hr) and waited in the staging lane for the final race against King of supercomp Gerd Habermann, before the race was rained out. Kenneth Celestin finished as the 2026 Deutscher Drag Racing Pokal (DMSB) runner-up with 130 points. Kenneth qualified second (8.918 seconds at 246 km\/h) and was still in the race when it got rained out. In June, he qualified sixth, and in August, he qualified fifth with an 8.923-second time. During elimination, he lost to Janine in the semifinals (he ran an 8.962 vs. Janine’s 8.923). Gerd Habermann took third place in the championship with 123 points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Philipp Daud is the 2026 Deutscher Drag Racing Pokal (DMSB) champion in Super Gas (SG), with Marianne Wisotzke as runner-up and Daniel Vetterl in third. Daud kicked off the DRP season in May by qualifying second and was still in competition when rain rained out the race. In June, Daud also qualified second with a 9.949 second at 226 km\/hr. In August, Daud qualified fourth and reached the finals, where he would have met Oscar Scappocin, but the race didn\u2019t happen because of rain. Daud earned 160 points in total to win the championship. Last year’s champion, Marianne Wisotzke, kicked in May by taking the top qualifying position with a 9.923 at 220 km\/hr, but lost in the first elimination round against Eric Haccoun. In June, she took third place with a 9.964 at 216 km\/hr. In August, Marianne qualified sixth but lost to Daniel Vetterl in the first elimination round. Marianne earned 98 points, which was enough for second place. Daniel Vetterl finished third with 81 points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Rainer Hescher is the 2026 Deutscher Drag Racing Pokal (DMSB) champion in ET Bike. The ET Bike competitor had only one round this year, and it all happened during the NitrolympX weekend, where Hescher qualified fifth and reached the semi-finals, losing to Marc Quatterbaum. Marie Madleen Rosen is the championship runner-up with 63 points, and Carsten Hemberger-Frauenkron is third with 37 points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
