Clastres Raceway, France 21st June 2025: The second round of the trophy dragster kicked off today with the first qualification rounds for Super Pro ET, Pro ET, SuperComp, Supergas, True Street, and Junior Dragster. Whereas last May was pretty cold, this time, the sun god gave us 20 degrees C in the morning, which rose quickly to 32 degrees around midday. Despite the heat, adrenaline levels were high, and all competitors suited up to race against the clock today to collect valuable points and/or get the best position on the Elimination ladder tomorrow. Races start at nine o’clock sharp and continue till 20.00, with the sixth and final round of the day. Also, this time, the Run What You Brought was well used by several drivers who came to Clastres to test their vehicles. The top qualifiers after six qualification rounds are Jean Christophe Chaillot (Super Pro ET), Peter Stevens (Pro ET), Cheyenne Visser (Super Comp), Steven Loisel (SuperGas), J Jacot (True Street), and Felix Schmidt in Junior Dragster.

Jean Christophe Chaillot takes the number one spot in Super Pro ET after six qualification rounds at Clastres Raceway. While Lucas Potthoff and Thierry Senges were battling each other during the day to stay in the number one spot, it was Chaillot who claimed it in the last round (Q6) of the day by driving his Corvette in 8.9908 seconds at 242 km/hrs with a dial-in of 8.99 seconds (which is 0.00081 seconds of his given time of 8.99seconds). Potthoff, who was the provisional leader in Q1 (7.642 seconds at 282 km/h) and Q3 (7.657 seconds at 278 km/h on a 7.65 dial-in) and skipped Q4 due to the high temperatures, is now third behind Thiery Senges (second qualifier) who ran an 8.971-second run in Q4 at 241 km/hrs on an 8.97 dial-in. The final qualification rounds tomorrow morning are expected to be interesting. Will Chaillot maintain his lead, or will Potthoff or Senges still have some tricks up their sleeves? Stay tuned for tomorrow!

Peter Stephans is the provisional leader in Pro ET. Peter is the new driver behind Velocity Classing’s ‘Blue Angel’ Ford Mustang and is already one with the vehicle. Stephans drove in a 9.186-second run at 234 km/hrs on a 9.18 dial-in in Q2. Although he wasn’t able to improve this, the fact that he ran 0.006 seconds slower than his dial-in time was good enough to keep him in the lead. René Siefert is currently second with 9.258 seconds at 235 km/hrs (9.25 seconds Dial-in), and Oliver Coulon is in third place with 9.359 seconds at 235 km/hrs (9.35 seconds dial-in). Remarkable is that the top three ran a thousand seconds from their dial-in, making this a very tough top to beat.

Cheyenne Visser dominated supercomp today by taking the number one spot. She drove her ‘Gremlin’ dragster in a 9.932-second run at 252 km/h over the finish line in Q2. Most drivers struggled with the high temperatures and skipped one or two elimination rounds. Visser also skipped Q4 and Q5 to spare the engine from the heat, but returned in Q6 in an attempt to improve her time; unfortunately, she was unable to do so. The 9.93 was good enough for her to maintain the lead. Clément Dubois is second with only 0.0006 seconds behind the leader. Dubois ran a 9.933-second run in Q4, which was good enough to keep his number spot after six rounds of qualifications. The man on a mission was Sam Wyeland, who managed to climb the qualification ladder from fifth place to the number three spot. Wayland drove his dragster in 8.954 seconds at 237 km/hrs in the final qualification round of the day.

Seven Loisel is the provisional leader of SuperGas. Loisel ran a 9.912-second run at 214 km/hrs in Q2. Loisel was unable to improve his time in the following qualification runs, but his 9.91 was close enough to the Supergas index to maintain the lead. Oscar Scappocin is second with a 9.945 at 208 km/hr. After missing the first round in May, the Gemelli racing team from Italy is back to compete in their favorite category, and how could they have missed it if their car is on the event poster? Cedric Limasset, who’s 2024 championship runner-up, drove his Ford Mustang in 9.973 seconds at 216 km/hrs to claim the third spot.

J Jacot is the provisional leader in Street Run; Jacot has led True Street since Q4, where he ran a 12.830 at 181 km/hrs (12.82 Dial-in) but backed this up in Q6 by running by running a 12.827 seconds at 180 km/hrs, which is 0.007 seconds away from his dial-in. Team Samantha, with Samantha Fermond behind the wheel, claimed the second position with a time of 14.60 seconds at 150 km/h (14.59 seconds dial-in). In third is Eric Armand, who drove his Chevrolet Camaro in 13.218 seconds at 166 km/hrs (13.20 seconds dial-in).

Felix Schmid takes the lead in Junior Dragster. The Juniors are always a thrill to watch during qualifying, as they qualify based on their reaction time to the three lights, meaning they must be razor-sharp on the lights to reach the top of the list. And Schmidt was sharp, by reacting in 0.0022 seconds on the tree! Second place goes to Aurore Arnaud, who qualified with a reaction time of 0.011 seconds. Yannis Weyland qualified third with a 0.013-second reaction time.

It was hot on the first day of the 27th European Dragster but still packed with thrilling qualification races. Shout out to Lissette de Koning, who was testing her Civic during the Run What You Brung session. Also, a shout-out to Ed Breedveld, who informed us that there won’t be any wheelies, as he has adjusted the suspension to prevent them. But that is not what Nova wants! Therefore, we saw numerous wheelies during the qualifying runs for Pro ET!
