Clastres Raceway, Clastres, France, 25th July 2026: Qualifications continue on the second day of the 31st European Dragster – Speed Final weekend for the cars and bike categories. As usual, the day started around 9 in the morning, and the Juniors in their dragsters kicked off the day. The weather gods blessed us with temperatures close to 30 degrees Celsius in the afternoon and a slight breeze. All competitors had four qualification rounds before the end of the day, and significant improvement was evident, particularly among the top three. The provisional top qualifiers at the end of the second day for the car categories are Thierry Senges (SPET), Carole Weyland (PET), Kenneth Celestin (SC), Eric Haccoun (SG), Eric Reitz (SR), and Eleanor Petzold (JrD). Top Qualifiers for the Bikes were Joel Dalla Veccia (Pro Twin), Mathieu Contremoulin (competition bike/pro stock), Mathieu Menard (Street Bike), Vincent Sarazin (ET bike), and R Amrouchi in Petite Cylindree.

Thierry Senges is the new top qualifier in Super Pro E.T. (SPET). By the end of round three, Lucas Potthoff was still in the lead with his 7.736 from yesterday. But Senges ran two thousandths of a second closer to his dial-in than Potthoff and took the lead (0.004 from his dial-in compared to 0.006 for Potthoff). Senges ran an 8.984-second run at 240 km/hrs on an 8.98 dial-in by the end of Q4 and maintained his lead throughout the rest of the day. Potthoff unfortunately couldn’t improve his time and is currently second. The third position has been claimed by a different competitor each round (Olivier Coulon in Q3, Raphael Caruso in Q4, and Sebastien Lajoux in Q5), but it is Spanish driver Angel Romero who claimed it before the end of the day by running 0.009 seconds off his dial-in. Romero drove his Camaro in 7.736 seconds at 279 km/hrs on a 7.97-second dial-in.

Carole Weyland takes the provisional number one spot in Pro E.T. (PET). Being third yesterday and dropping a couple of spots during the day (number 6th in Q5, it was in Q6 that Carole turned the numbers in her favor and drove her dragster in 10.561 seconds at 199 km/hrs on a 10.56 dial-in (0.0010 seconds from her dial-in) to claim the number one spot. Peter Soursas, who led the class four two qualification rounds, is currently second with a 9.971 seconds at 218 km/hrs on a 9.97 dial-in (0.0015 seconds from his dial-in). Chiara Stanzal, Yesterday’s leader, couldn’t improve her time and is currently third.

Kenneth Celestin took the provisional number one spot in SuperCom (SC). Qualifying second yesterday, Celestin dropped a few spots during the day (4th in Q4) but recovered in the final qualification round. Celestin drove his 3rd-gen Camaro in a stunning 8.903 seconds at 227 km/hrs (0.003 seconds from class index). Janine Petzold is currently second with an 8.905 at 260 km/h, a great improvement over yesterday (when she finished 6th). Yesterday’s leader, Clément Dubios, unfortunately couldn’t improve on his 8.915 and is currently in third place.

No changes in the number one spot for SuperGas (SG) with Eric Haccoun still in the lead. However, Haccoun did improve yesterday from 9.932 to 9.920 seconds at 216 km/hrs to retain his number one spot. Cedric Limasset is currently second with a 9.939 seconds at 216 km/hrs and Marianne Wisotzke is currently third with a 9.953 seconds at 217 km/hrs (good improvement from the 10.25 from yesterday).

After six rounds of qualification, it is Eric Reitz who took the number one spot in Street Run (SR). After dropping to eleventh place in Q3, Reitz drove his Plymouth Valiant in 12.752 seconds at 178 km/hrs on a 12.75 dial-in. Reitz couldn’t improve his time throughout the day, but it was sufficient to maintain the lead. Maxime Chevaillaud is currently second with a 13.008 at 166 km/hrs on a 13.00 dial-in. Yesterday’s leader, Bilal Moulessehoul, couldn’t improve his 12.009 from Q1 and is currently third.

In Junior Dragster (JDr), Eleanor Petzold is still in the lead, with Tim Fassler in second place. While Petzold couldn’t improve her reaction time of 0.00124, Fassler did improve his time to 0.00377 to reclaim his number two spot. Emily Schaupp is in the third spot with a reaction time of 0.00393.

For the bikes, it is Joel Dalla Veccia who took the provisional number-one spot with 9.346 at 226 km/hrs from Frank Bornais, who could improve on yesterday’s time (9.645 seconds). Bornais is currently second. Marc Klessens is currently third with a 10.294-second run at 207 km/hrs.

In competition bike/Pro Stock, it is Mathieu Contremoulin still in the lead after five rounds of qualification. Contremoulin managed to improve his time and maintain his number one spot. Emmanuel Calmettes is currently second, and Thom Waterschoot from Belgium is currently third.

Mathieu Menard is still leading the Street bike categories after six rounds of qualification with an 8.537-second run at 256 km/hrs. Mathieu Martin is currently second with an 8.998-second run at 243 km/h, and Andrea Signoretto from Italy is currently third.
