DAY 2 – Imports vs Domestics

We start this day off with a walk through the pits to see what everybody was up to.

We saw teams working hard on their vehicles.
Making final prep to be able to do the day’s qualifying passes.
This is the last chance they get to be able to try to make it to the big show.img_6601

Some of the other crews were hanging out and chilling waiting for the call to get to the staging lanes.

The races started and we were already all the way back in the pit, we decided to check out some after the 1320 feet action.
This is where the cars were slowing down after doing a pass in the 1/4 mile.

We returned to the starting line to catch the action up front on the 2nd and final day of Qualifying.
Everybody was going 100% at it, to make it into the next day’s big show.

The track prep was done as usual, on the highest level by Jason and his crew.

The JET DRYER was called into action many times by the crew.
This piece of machinery was key into keeping the oil downs as short as possible.
The crew had the track cleaned and ready to rock within 10 minutes.
It just did not take any longer to clean up even the worse mess.

While we waited for the crew to clean up the track, the announcers would go out and play games with the crowd.
This one was our favorite.
The people got toilet paper rolls thrown to them and they had to “make the basket” by throwing it back into the bucket seen below.
