Hockenheim-ring, GERMANY 17th August 2018: After nearly a month break since the 3rd round at Alastaro Finland, the Qualifying race has started for the 4th round of the FIA/FIM European Drag Race Championship. This time all teams found their way back to Hockenheim-ring at the ‘Rico Anthes Quatermile’ track.

Liam Jones resulted to be number one qualifier in the Top Fuel class. Liam booked a 3.978 second run in a close race against Duncan Micallef ( 3.978 vs 3.946 sec for Duncan) in the first qualification run. Liam improved his time by 0.035 sec to a 3.943-second run and pushed Duncan who couldn’t improve his into second place. Antti Horto also manages to run his dragster into a three-second run (3.990 sec at 501 km/h) and takes the third place on the list!. Championship leader, Anita Mäkelä is currently in the fifth place with a 4.062-second run.

Besides top qualifier, The NitrOlympX spectators witnessed the first European Father vs Daughter race in the Top Fuel Class. Young driver Jndia Erbacher raced her Father Urs in a pretty close race where she won the first round by booking a 4.08 second run against Urs who ran a 4.13-second run at 429 Km/h.

In the Top Methanol class, it is Championship leader, Timo Habermann (No defeat so far!) who takes the number one spot with a stunning 5.383-second run. Jonny Lagg is in second place with only 0.015 seconds behind Timo (5.398 sec) leaving Sandro Bellio in third place with a 5.66-second run.

Micheal Gullqvist takes the number one spot in Pro Modified class as only Pro Mod in the five second run with a stunning 5.973 sec.  David Vegter (6.037 sec) and Jan Ericsson (6.075 sec) are currently in 2nd and 3rd place. The first qualifying run for most Pro Mod competitors was not their best as most of them struggle to get traction (Tyre shaking).

In the Pro Stock class, it is the Swedish driver Bengt Ljungdahl who is the first qualifier with a stunning 6.648-second run leaving Micheal Malmgren in second place with a 6.678-second run.  Pro stock championship leader, Stefan Ernryd remain in the third place after 2 qualification runs with a 6.719-second run.

M17A9487Super Gas (9.90 sec Index) it is Eddy van den Bos who manages to get his Chevrolet Nova closest to the index by booking a 9.921-second run.  Andrea Villi is just 0.001 second behind Eddy with a 9.922-second run. And to make it more interesting also third qualifier (Cas Van de Mosselaar) in the Super Gas class is only 0.027 second behind Andrea! This will be an interesting category to follow.

Mogens Lund is number one qualifier at the NitrOlympX 2018 in Hockenheim in the Super Street Bike (SSB) class with a stunning 7.090 second run, leaving Donát Dániel lencses in second place with an 7.201 second run. Third qualifier, Steve Venables is just 0.003 second behind lencses with an 7.204 second run. [Picture 4Q6A8069]
