Hockenheim-ring, GERMANY 18th August 2018: Qualifying rounds continues at the ‘Rico Anthes Quatermile’ Track with the 3rd and 4th rounds before going into elimination. The last attempt to improve yesterday’s time and several competitors improved their time which results in some changes in the qualification list.
In the Top Fuel Dragster class, there wasn’t any position change, only slight time improvements. Most of the competitors struggle to get enough traction from the track and suffered tire shaking. Liam Jones is still number one qualifier in the Top Fuel Dragster class with no improvement on his time (3.943 seconds at 500 km/h). Jones will meet Urs Erbacher in the eliminations. Duncan Micallef is still second with only 0.003 seconds (3.943 seconds) behind Liam. Antti Horto did improve his time to 3.966 seconds, thus has maintained his third place and will meet Michael Kagered (6th position) in the eliminations.
No change at the top of the Top Methanol class, as yesterday’s number one qualifier Timo Habermann is still on top, with a small improvement on his time. Timo improved his time with 0.068 seconds (From 5.383 to 5.315 sec). Dennis Habermann, yesterday’s number 4th qualifier also improved his time and booked a 5.358 second and takes the number two spot from Jonny Lagg. Jonny improved his time with only 0.005. This just wasn’t enough to beat the Habermann brothers and is now third (5.393 sec). First elimination run will be for Timo with a single run due to uneven participants, Lagg will meet Mikael Larsson and Dennis will meet Linn Karlsen.

New Qualifying leader for Pro Modified class as Jimmy Ålund takes the lead from Micheal Gullqvist with a stunning 5.956 second run at 393 km/h. Andy Robinson takes the second position on the list with also a stunning 5.956 second run at 392 km/h! Micheal Gullqvist yesterday’s number one qualifier couldn’t improve his time (5.973 sec) but is still just 0.017 seconds behind Robinson. A very interesting class to follow during elimination. As the top 3 qualifiers with nearly no difference at all and number four, five and sixth also close to each other.

Micheal Malmgren, a new leader for the Pro Stock class. Micheal, who was in second place yesterday improved his time to a 6.637 second in the third qualifying round. Although he couldn’t improve his time in the last qualification round due to tire shaking, it was good enough to maintain his first spot. Bengt Ljungdahl couldn’t improve his time (6.648 sec) and is now in second place. Third qualifier Stefan Ernryd improved his time to a 6.666 second and maintain his third position. Quite some changes in the Super Gas (9.90 sec Index) as Italian driver Andrea Villi ran a perfect run and booked a 9.900-second run. Villi takes the number one spot and push Eddy van den Bos to the second place and will meet Stefan reffeltrath in the eliminations. Eddy did Improve his time by 0.011 to 9.910 second at 197 km/h. Gerd Habermann is now third after improving his time to a 9.911-second run and will meet Arnold Hol in the eliminations. Eddy will meet the number nine qualifier Sylvie Lavaud in the Eliminations.
In the Super Street Bike (SSB), Mogens Lund maintains his number one spot without any improvement on his time (7.090 sec). Number two spot is now claimed by Stephan Mead who improved his time to a 7.167 second, with Rudi Zorzi in third place. Dániel lencses, who was in second place yesterday improved his time to 7.198 but wasn’t enough to maintain a spot in the top three.

Pro stock Bike; it is Martin Newbury maintain his number one spot. Newbury improved yesterday time from a 7.193 a 7.162 second. Charly Abraham, yesterday’s third qualifier moved up one position as he improved his time to a 7.254 second. In third place, it is Bertrand Muarice with a 7.31-second run.
