Yesterday 25th of March at Curacao International Raceway the drivers meeting was held.
The organizing committee wanted to stress on some points.
- Everybody must behave and respect each other.
- Oil down and continue to run the track is an auto DQ. Do it again and your banned for a year on the track.
- Safety belt is a big issue. About the 5 year validity of the safety belt.The drivers made a point that the belt can be bought and already be 5 years old.They suggest that It just needs to be in good condition.
The committee will go back and revisit the rule and come back with a final resolution for this issue.
- Zoeterboek bro’s commented about the bump on the track at the beginning of the new section.
The committee is going to check it out and see what can be done for / to it.
Oil leaks got to be a topic again.
The drivers want it to be done correctly, and some even think that an oil leak early on, can be repaired, and a disqualification at that moment, is too harsh for them.
Also if someone else leaks, they must put the blame on the correct driver.
The lights at the end of the track also came up. But Dan assured everybody that it was fixed.
Pre stage and stage is an gentlemen’s agreement.
Upon the one driver staging, the other driver got 10 seconds to stage.
More drivers complain about the condition of the track.
The drivers complain to the race director, but he does not take action soon enough.
The committee will take it into account. The Race director must be at the scene at all cost.
There was also a complain about the 10.90 category that will not be ran anymore.
The main total of cars runs that category is huge. The team will go back and check it out.
All in all it looks like the DRAGFEST 2014 event will be big in attendance from our local drivers this year.
