JAPFEST is also host to the seventh and final Dutch Time Attack race of the season. This year the organization made a change in the championship, by dividing the season in 4 events for the 2019 champion and three events which is only open to the event theme (end of day winner). Time Attack is divided into the categories; Club, Pro, Super Pro and Super pro Extreme. Noticeable was the amount spin in the strubben corner during the warming up/qualifying laps.

The most attracting event during Japfest is still the burnout madness, where competitors have to demonstrate that they can hold a burn out for limit amount of time without blowing their tires up. Burn master Leo Honders, give the public a demo where lucky spectator; Emiel Schaapman had the opportunity to be in the passenger seat of Leo’s Honda Del Sol. Looking at the pictures, I think Emiel still has a smile on his face at the moment this article is published.
