Clastres Raceway, France 27th July 2025: In the blink of an eye, the days passed by, three races, three months have gone, and like that, the 2025 French championship, Trophy Dragster, has come to an end. A season with a lot of happiness due to new personal bests, surprises, and new crowned champions. But it was also a season of sadness, with the loss of fellow racer and president of Association Trophee Dragster (ATD) Eric Angeloni, who passed away just weeks after the second round. The absolute winners of the 2025 championship are Lucas Potthoff (SPET), Peter Stevens (PET), Gerd Habermann (SC), Aurelien Menard (SG), Laurent Arnould (SR), and Yannis Weyland (Jr.D).

So a lot has happened since the championship started last May. Let us break it down for you.
Lucas Potthoff became the 2025 champion in Super Pro ET. The rising star came this year focused and determined to win ( he ended up third in his first season in SPET last year). He won the first championship round in May, as the top qualifier who qualified with a 7.6311-second run at 283 km/h on a 7.63 dial-in, which put him on top of the list with 138 points. Lucas qualified third in the second championship round (June) and was eliminated in the second round, earning 36 points, which was sufficient to maintain his lead. With the final race of the season, Pothoff qualified 5th and gained 14 points. As the eliminations during the last race (July) got cancelled (due to bad weather), he ended up with 188 points, which was sufficient to win the championship. Runner-up this season went to Beinot Isnel. Isnel came short in all the rounds but had enough points to stay in second place during all three races of the championship and ended up 10 points behind Potthoff (178 p). Laurent Arnaud came in third place with 154 points.

Peter Stevens wins the 2025 Trophee dragster in Pro ET. The Dutchman made a comeback in drag racing after 18th years and with success! It was a slow start after Stevens was not able to finish the first round (in May) due to technical problems, and only gained 50 points. But this all changed when he managed to qualify first in the second race with a 9.186-second run at 234 km/hrs on a 9.18 dial-in and also won the race to gain 114 points. And, as first-round winner Andreas Gianzmann didn’t compete during the remaining rounds, this put Stevens right in the lead of the championship. Stevens qualified 6th, which was good for 14 points. The total score for Peter Stevens was 202 points. Ed Breedveld, another Dutch driver, came in second place, 25 points behind Stevens (177 p). Breedveld made it to the final race against Steven during the second championship round in June, where he earned sufficient points (114 p) to climb up the list from 8th place to second place. Breedveld only got 11 points during the last race of the season, but it was enough to stay in second place. Luc Thilges, who was in second place after one championship round (116 p), only got 33 points during the second round and didn’t participate in the last round. Thilges ended up third in the 2025 Trophee dragster in Pro ET (total of 149 points).

Gerd Habermann was once again successful in Super Comp by winning the French championship. Habermann qualified fourth and fifth during the first two rounds, but managed to win both championship rounds, earning 209 points. In the last round, Habermann qualified in third position, which was good for 16 points. As no eliminations were run, Habermann stayed in the lead for the entire championship and won with 225 points in total. Second place is for Clarissa Czekalla, who managed to get to the final race of each round, but both times came short against Gerd Habermann. After two rounds, Czekalla was 40 points behind Habermann (169 p). During the final championship race, Czekalla qualified in 5th place, which was good for 14 points and a total of 183 points. Last year’s champion, Clément Dubois, ended up in third place with 108 points. Remarkable is that both Clément and Sam Wayland ended the championship with 108 points, but it’s Clément who took the number three spot.

Aurelien Menard won the 2025 Trophee dragster in SuperGas. Menard won the first round of the championship (May), but came just some horsepower too short to win the second round (June) and finished second after Loisel. Menard was still in the lead after two rounds with 190 points. Menard’s qualifications in the last race were good for 14 points, which was good enough to win the championship (204 points in total). Steven Loisel ended up second. Loisel was 4th after the first round, but that all changed when he won the second race and gained 98 points to put him in second. During the last race (July), he qualified in second place, earning 16 points. With a total of 170 points, he was able to maintain his number two spot. Third place went to Peter Soursas. Soursas started the season in second place, but managed to retain the number three spot.

The 2025 Trophy Dragster championship is a fact. The first two rounds were sunny and dry with some light rain showers, but the final round was during a rainy weekend, forcing the race organisation to suspend the elimination runs. All competitors gave everything they had to win the championship! We from The Chronicles of Boost want to congratulate all winners!
