Drachten Airfield, THE NETHERLANDS 21-23 September: After a successful summer edition at Drachen, a canceled event in August due to adverse weather conditions it was time for the final races. The Dutch Hot Rod Association (DHRA), the drive behind this season race event, did everything within their power to make the finals a perfect event. Unfortunately, mother nature had other plans. What meant to be a three days event, ended up in a single day race on Saturday.  DHRA made an attempt to start qualifying on Friday, but races were postponed due to rain.

The weather condition was better on Saturday and as soon as the track was ready the first qualifying races started. Organisation together with competitors made the decision not to go into elimination due to the weather forecast on Sunday and open the track for competitors to make as many runs as possible and nominate top qualifiers as event winner.

In Wild Street it is Kirsten van Croonenborgh who qualified in first place and takes the win home during the Drachten finals with an 8.509-sec run. In the second place, it his Harry Kempenaar with an 8.953-second run and new personal best. Pierre Wolf, in his Volkswagen powered by a rotary engine, went home with the 3rd place.

Jens Könnecke takes the win in Super Pro ET with a stunning 8.518-second run, leaving Jan Scheppers in second place with a 9.099-second run. Third place went to Kenneth Celestin, who just finished a new tranny for the brother racing Camaro, with a 9.247-second run.

In Pro ET, it is Cas van de Mosselaar who takes the win home with a 9.879-second run, leaving Richard Minderhoud in second place. Third place went to Steve Okkerman, who tested his new purchase, the Plymouth ‘Cuda’ previously raced under the Black8 Racing Team fleet.  Steve ended up in third place with a 10.026-second run.

Jeroen van den Belt, takes the win home in the Pro street bike with a good 8.121-second run, leaving Marios Kasnet (8.576 sec) and Dave Okkes (8.798 sec) in second and third place.

Street Legal Bike it is Naichel Martis from Crossfire racing team who takes the win home, with a stunning 9.703-second run. Marc Quattelbaum (9.749 sec) was just 0.04 second behind Martis in second place and Sander Woelders takes the third place with a 9.934-second run.
