JDM Passion Takes Center Stage: GoJapan at Louwman’s Toyota World

Last Sunday, the grounds of Louwman’s Toyota World in Raamsdonksveer transformed into a JDM paradise as thousands of automotive enthusiasts gathered for the annual GoJapan car show. Featuring over 1,500 Japanese vehicles, the event celebrated the rich heritage, engineering, and culture of the JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) scene.
While modern sports cars and modified street builds drew massive crowds, it was the classic JDMs that stole the show. Purists were treated to pristine vintage legends, including early-generation Datsun 240Zs, classic Honda Civics, and iconic 1970s Toyota Celicas. Timeless performance icons like the Nissan Skyline GT-R, Toyota Supra, and rotary-powered Mazda RX-7s stood shoulder-to-shoulder, showcasing decades of Japanese motorsport evolution.
The venue itself added an unparalleled backdrop. Attendees enjoyed full access to Louwman’s Toyota World museum, bridging the gap between rare historic models—such as early Toyotas and historic race cars—and the custom street builds parked outside.
Beyond the metal, the atmosphere was fueled by a bustling market area with performance vendors, lively club displays, rev battles, and the coveted Best of Show competition. Owners proudly shared the painstaking restoration stories behind their vintage machines.
GoJapan once again proved why it remains a highlight on the European car culture calendar—a brilliant homage to the history, style, and enduring passion of Japanese automotive engineering.
