Amsterdam RAI, Amsterdam, The Netherlands 21 April 2025: It is Easter weekend, so car enthusiasts found their way to the Netherlands’ number one car exhibition center, the Amsterdam RAI, for another International Amsterdam Motor Show (IAMS)! Amsterdam RAI has hosted several car exhibitions over the years and, since 2018, has been home to IAMS. This year’s edition featured around 45.000 square feet of the most prestigious vehicles in the car industry: a kids’ area, a sim area, a car catwalk, the Concours Délegance, and much more. IAMS also paid tribute to the 75 years of the Porsche brand in the Netherlands.

2024 was a remarkable year for the brand Porsche in the Netherlands, as it celebrated its 75th anniversary on Dutch soil. In 1949, Ben Pon (senior) brought the first Porsche to the Netherlands. This year, the team from IAMS paid tribute to this remarkable achievement by taking the spectators a bit through the history lane, with the most iconic Porsche models from the early days till the newest one. The tour started with a beautiful 911 in the front door and a welcome video from Sjoerd van Stokkum (main drive behind IAMS) in the background. One of the first eye-catchers was the 1952 Porsche 356, which was fully restored in its original Azure Blue color with ripcord interior.

Passing the fifties into the sixties, the 1963 Porsche 904 Carrera GTS is one of the best of the sixties. Only 106 pieces were ever built! This one is number 034. Two remarkable things about this GTS are its top speed of 263 km/hrs (remember it was 1963) and the fact that it only has 83 km on the dash.

Another one was this beautiful 1964 911 2.0 coupe in red with a black interior. This car is number 138 out of 232 ever produced and has chassis number 300 138. The ones who fell in love with this masterpiece and, of course, had a deep pocket could swing by Porsche Classics Center Gelderland and buy it. It only costs 695.000 euros (registration not included).

You have to know the past so you can appreciate the present! The history lane ends the course with the latest models, like the 2023 922 Sport Classic in Fjord green color and black/cognac interior. This baby has a top speed of 315 km/hr and only has 45km on the dash.

However, IAMS had more to offer: a brand and a model for every taste. A breathtaking Apollo Intensa Emozione was a must-see during this Easter weekend. Apollo Future Mobility Group is based in Hong Kong and has built a remarkable supercar. Only 10 pieces were ever made, worth over two million euros.

The Car catwalk was a must at IAMS for those looking for an adrenaline rush. It was the moment that the spectator had the opportunity to see their favorite supercar, hear the engine roar, smell the great fumes coming out of the exhaust, and get more detailed information about the car. Presenters Gert-Jan Hanipman and Sjoerd van Stokkum (Friday 11.30 AM) entertained the audience. One of the cars presented during the car catwalk was the Brabus 900 Rocket R. The Mercedes-oriented German Tuner used the Porsche 911 Turbo S coupe as a baseline to tune it and get 900 horsepower and 1000 newton meters of torque. This beauty has a top speed of 340 km/hrs and goes from 0-100 in 2.5 seconds. Only 25 ever built!

For the young car enthusiast, there was the kids’ corner. The kids had various activities, from a baby playground to a bounce castle for the older ones. The daredevils had the opportunity to do some laps on an ATV to get the hang of a real track. They also had the chance to get their faces painted or a figure made out of balloons.

One place to be during this Easter weekend was the Amsterdam RAI for the latest edition of the International Amsterdam Motor Show. Several thousand visitors went to Amsterdam to get a glimpse of Porsche’s history. They were thrilled by the cars on the catwalk, walked around the several halls, and admired their favorite supercars. Make sure to visit today (the last day of IAMS) or keep your calendar empty during the 2026 Easter weekend for another edition of IAMS.
