JadeWeser Airport, GERMANY 13th – 15th July 2018: Once a year The Jadeweser Airport is host to the Jade race and it’s turned from a small airport into a quarter-mile track. The Jade race is the second race of the DSMB cup (Deutsche Motor Sports Bund).
The DMSB cup consists of 4 races divided over Germany (Akersleben 1st race, Hockenheim-ring 4rd a final race) and The Netherlands ( Drachten 3rd race). This also the nine-year that JadeWeser airport is home to the Jade races.
The track opened on Friday as usual for the traditional test & tune, where all competitor could get a good feeling on how their car/bikes react to the track conditions. After a couple of runs, the first qualifying races started and continues on Saturday 14th July, where elimination where run on Sunday.
In Super gas class (9.90 index class) it is Gerd Habermann (5th on qualification list) who takes the win. Top qualifier in this class was Rene Kloss with a nearly perfect 9.907-second run and got a single run (bye run) in the elimination due to uneven participants. Unfortunately, Rene ended up with a broken timing chain which resulted in some engine damage during this run.

Gerd who won his first race on the ladder against Arndt Putzman would have met Rene in the half-finals. But the damage on Rene’s car was bigger than expected and Ger got a free pass into the final as Rene had retired himself from the race. The final race went Between Gerd and Jan Zimmermann in his Chevrolet Malibu. But Gerd takes the win (9.926-second run) as Jan breaks out by running a 9.871 (Breaking out = running faster than the 9.90 index).

In the Pro ET Class, it is Janine Hagen from the Schumann Motorsport racing team who takes the win in her Mercedez Benz. She also was top Qualifier on Friday with a stunning 10.242 second run at 216 km/h. In the Semi-final, Janina (Index 10.70) met Janita Kempenaar (index 12.00) in a close race, they both ran within 0.2 seconds of their given index. Janina was quicker on the tree and took the win.

The final race went between Janine and Gerd Haberman. Janina makes a 10.593-second pass which was faster than her index time (10.700) but still takes the win as Gerd never left the start line. After the race, we understood from Gerd that it was his decision not to race and was satisfied with 2nd place.
He was assigned to the right lane in the final race against Janine, but this isn’t very straight at 300 meters which can be very tricky for a dragster without suspension.
Senaichel Martis, the absolute winner in Pro Street bike!. The number 4th qualifier (8.962-second) was only 0.232 seconds behind leader Jeroen van den Belt who qualified with a great 8.730-second run.
All four top qualifier where close to each (Jeroen 1st, Mario Kasner 2nd, Schamir van Lamoen 3rd ) other but Senaichel had the right combination during the Jade-Races. He ran a Low nine second during the eliminations and takes the Win!
Another successful Jade-Race held at JadeWeser Airport Germany. We from The Chronicles of boost want to congratulate all ‘Jade-Race’ winners. To the rest of the racers; Keep a positive mindset, every journey is a learning, come back next time and beat the competition!
