Circuit Zandvoort, The Netherlands: Electrify your future some brand will say but some would disagree on that. But when a Mustang Cobra, an Electric Vehicle, clocks 8.27 seconds on the quarter mile track, than all of a sudden all great names in the automobile industry are going electric. From that moment on you know that the car world as we once knew it is changing. And it’s changing fast! EV Experience is the first car event to provide that electric change. Feel the power, hear the silence is the motto!

EV Experience 1

EV Experience, an event for the business sector as for the normal consumer, where the focus is on electric cars, motorcycles, bicycle, scooter and steps. The Man behind EV Experience is Maarten Pompen. Maarten has worked many years organizing car events, working for Amsterdam RAI, he was one of driven forces behind the famous AutoRAI. We’ve asked Maarten on his ideas behind EV Expierence, on which he replied; ‘There was a huge gap in the Dutch car world when AutoRAI stopped. Currently there is huge mindset change around electric vehicles and I wanted was to inform and inspire people on what is out there. With this in mind, the location was easy; Circuit Zandvoort

The pits of Circuit Zandvoort were transformed into pop up stores from several car brands and the track itself transformed into an electric test paradise. Around two thousand spectators (under restricted Covid regulations) had the opportunity to not only test drive several models but also get more information and guidance on the several types of electric vehicles available on the Dutch market, like; BEV, PHEV, FCEV! Say what? Let us break it down for you in simple terms.

After been dominating the innovative market for decades, the conventional Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEV), opened the door for Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEV). The difference is as the name suggests, a PHEV car will need to be plugged on the net to recharge the onboard battery pack. Where on HEV, the battery pack is being charged by either the combustion engine or regenerator in the brake system. Nowadays we speak about Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV), which has no combustion engine and are fully run on the onboard battery pack. The Latest trend in alternative energy is the Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles (FCEV) which are the Hydrogen types like the Toyota Mirai.

So EV experience is a brand new concept with a lot to offer, from converted old timers, tips and tricks to the brand new model from all major brands. In case you missed this great event, make sure you mark your calendar is from 24th to 26 of September 2021 for the next edition of EV Experience.
