Circuit Zolder, Belgium 9th July 2023: The Third edition and most awaited supercar event in Belgium is a fact. Circuit Zolder in Heusden-Zolder (Belgium) was home to the Supercar Madness, and around eight thousand car enthusiasts found their way to the track. An exhibition of the best cars from Europe combined with another round of the V-Max Racing Management (VRM) championship (separate article). An event with drag races, car display, hot laps, and the opportunity to drive a supercar yourself! And, icing on the cake, the weather gods were at their best (as it was a sunny and hot weekend).

With around five hundred cars lined up, Circuit Zolder transformed into a supercar Heaven. There were cars exhibited from the moment you drove through the racetrack gates till you arrived at the show paddock. There was a car for every taste, from an Audi RS Avant to a Novitec Mclaren 600LT.

The paddock was full of car enthusiasts from every age, thrilled by the revving engines and the smell of burned fuel in the air, coming from the races going down in the background.

Several members of the Runball Rally group exhibited their cars on the paddock. Mercedes AMG, Lotus, and Porches delight the spectator’s senses during the car show. The ‘Runball Rally group’ has been around for a decade, and organizes several runs during the year (from a one-day rally to a seven days run). It is not a race or timed event but is more about bringing petrolheads together in a seven days (or one-day) adventure on the most breathtaking and exotic roads. One of the eye-catchers among the rally group members was the bright yellow/green 2022 Lamborghini Huracan STO. Picture

Another eye-catcher was the Shark Blue Techart GT Street R. Techart made eighty-seven of these beauties and is a customized 2021 Porsche 911 Turbo S. This particular one has been roaming the streets of the Netherlands for some time now and has crossed the border for the first time into Belgium for a car event. Another eye-catcher on the paddock was the 1000+ horsepower Nissan GTR a.k.a. “Godzilla”, owned by influencer GTR Leslie. As usual, Leslie entertained the spectators with his fireball-spitting GTR.

The supercar drag race was the right place to be, for the ones, looking for more adrenaline rush. Supercar owners got the opportunity to line up at the starting line and show their opponents what they got. There was no timing equipment or elimination rounds, just some old-school drag race. Race master Stijn Dekker gave the racers the starting signal. Several supercars owners listed themselves for the race, from Nissan GTR to supercharged Jeep Grand Cherokee (Trackhawk). But the man to beat this time was the Techart GT Street Art! Is he looking for a rematch against a notorious 1000+ Honda Civic? Who knows!

Supercar Hotlaps! As it became a tradition during supercar events, car owners had the opportunity to take a shot at the track. In these twenty-minute sessions, the participants can enjoy the circuit without pressure.

Overall a successful 3rd edition of Supercar Madness at Circuit Zolder. The event had a lot to offer, from limited-produced supercars to more day-to-day models. Supercar Hot Lap session for the supercar owners and quarter-mile races. Besides the show, the public could have followed several races (Ford Fiesta, Mazda MX-5 Cup, BMW M2 Cup, Supercar challenge) from the stands. The Next Supercar Madness edition is in October, at the TT circuit in The Netherlands. Enjoy the Photo gallery below.
